This is a pin representing Stephen's unit. He would have worn it on his lapel or hat.

Stephen W. Pszeniczka, born on December 25, 1922, and served as a Private First Class in the 315th Infantry Regiment of the 79th Infantry Division (serial number 33276934). He was killed in action on the battlefield on June 22, 1944 when he was 22 years old. He is currently buried in the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France. His death was a contribution to the campaign that resulted in the capture of Cherbourg.

 

This website is meant to serve as a monument to the heroes who passed during WWII. I hope this website does Stephen and his family justice. In the process of making this website, I hope to illuminate the contribution of Pennsylvanian soldiers to the ending of WWII.
